April 2020
After leaving Chicago and moving back home because of the Covid19 Pandemic, I spent a lot of time in my bedroom. Partly because I was finishing up classes online, and partly because I suddenly had a lot of free time.
My bedroom has mostly been a comforting place for me but when I had no choice, I felt confined in those four walls. I relished in the comfort of being home and having next to no responsibilities but this quickly spiraled into depression.
Now when I think back to that time, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I remember just existing and trying to distract myself from what I was going through by consuming social media. I would waste away hours of my days on Tik Tok… Looking at these photos a year later is a unique experience, as I believe they captured that time of my life well.
